The Xbox 360 may be two generations old, but thanks to the incredible homebrew community, it refuses to die. At the heart of this revival is Aurora, the most popular open-source dashboard replacement for hacked (RGH/JTAG) Xbox 360 consoles.
The Xbox 360's theme system was built using a combination of XML, PNG, and WAV files. Themes were essentially a collection of these files, which were stored on the console's hard drive. The Xbox 360's dashboard software would then use these files to render the theme.
