Legitimate Sources

  • Your own iTunes backup (macOS Mojave or earlier): Older versions of iTunes allowed users to download and store IPA files locally. If you have a local backup of Viber from 2019, that file is legitimate.
  • Apple Configurator 2: IT administrators can download IPAs from their Apple Business Manager account to deploy to corporate devices.
  • Xcode Archive: Developers compiling Viber from source (though Viber is closed-source, so this doesn’t apply to end-users).
