Introducing Standard CT Extended Regular Font

Don't waste your weekend clicking through shady download buttons. The font is great. The "free new download" is a myth.

While users often search for "free download" versions of premium fonts, it is important to distinguish between official demo versions and full commercial licenses. Standard CT Extended 400 Regular Font - Fontspring

  • Recommended: Use the filter "100% Free" for commercial use.

Paid Options: You can purchase the Extended Regular style or the full family at retailers like MyFonts or Fontspring.

  • Abandonware (old PostScript Type 1 fonts from the 90s that don't work well on modern systems).
  • Pirated copies (which hurt type designers).
  • Close imitations mislabeled as Standard CT.

Full Family: The complete family of 26–38 styles ranges from $456.00 USD.

The Rogue Sites (1001fonts, FontsGeek, etc.): You will find it. It will be labelled "Free." But look closer. 90% of these sites are repackaging older, often corrupted, .TTF files from the early 2000s. These versions lack proper kerning pairs (watch 'AV' and 'To' collide), have broken Unicode maps (forget about accented characters), and often contain embedded malware in the ZIP files. I downloaded three "free" versions from different sites. Two installed with generic names like "Font1." One crashed my font management software.
