- Note the Firmware Version field.
- Check the Bootloader version separately.
If "st-244f" refers to a variant of the ST-LINK programmer used for STM32 microcontrollers, you should use the official utility: (also known as the Sercomm T3 ST-244F )
The safest way to check for updates is through the router's local management page: Navigate to Controller Information
The ST-244F firmware offers numerous benefits to system developers, manufacturers, and end-users. Some of the key advantages include:
- Donor EEPROM – Find another ST-244F (even with mechanical failure) and transplant its 93C46.
- Firmware Emulation – Use an Arduino Mega 2560 to emulate the EEPROM behavior at boot (advanced DIY).
- Controller-Level Workaround – Some MFM controllers (like the Xebec 1210) ignore the drive's firmware and use their own timing tables. You can bypass the ST-244F's firmware entirely by installing the controller’s ROM with embedded drive parameters.
- Confirm device model and exact firmware build before flashing.
- Use firmware from the manufacturer or trusted provider only.
- Backup channel lists, settings, and any user data when possible.
- If possible, read the update changelog and known issues.
- Keep power stable (use UPS) while updating.
Navigate to the Device Management tab to see current Wi-Fi and SAMD firmware versions.
