Slate Digital Fresh Air

Slate Digital Fresh Air is a dynamic high-frequency exciter plugin designed to add "air," clarity, and brilliance to audio tracks without introducing harshness. It is primarily used for vocals, individual instruments, or full mixes. Slate Digital Core Features Dual Frequency Bands

Fresh Air works differently. It uses harmonic generation and dynamic saturation. Instead of simply turning up the existing high frequencies (which may be dull or poorly recorded), it creates new, cleaner harmonics based on the source material. The result is a high end that feels louder and more present without actually increasing peak levels or introducing unpleasant artifacts. slate digital fresh air

Creative applications

7. Tips & Tricks from the Pros

  1. Use the Mix Knob aggressively. Try 100% wet but at 50% mix. This gives you parallel air—the original transient with a ghost layer of shimmer.
  2. Automate the bands. Bring up Dial B only during a chorus to make the hook soar.
  3. Try it before compression. Adding air before a compressor can cause the compressor to react to the high frequencies differently, often sounding smoother.
  4. Check your mono compatibility. While rare, heavy air can cause phase issues. Always check the mix in mono after applying.
