Moi3D is a 3D modeling software that offers a free version with some limitations. The V5 beta is likely a new version of the software with updated features.

Workflow impressions

  • Modeling feel: keeps the fast, direct NURBS modeling workflow MoI is known for — quick creation of clean surfaces with predictable edits.
  • Booleans & trims: noticeably more reliable but still occasionally require manual trimming on very complex intersections.
  • UI learning curve: minimal for v4 users; newcomers find the toolset approachable compared with CAD-heavy packages.
  • Scripting and plugins: existing v4 scripts often work, though some APIs changed in beta — test critical scripts before production use.

Since the initial unveiling of MoI 5 in 2022, developer Michael Gibson has utilized a series of time-limited beta builds to gather community feedback. Each release, including the recent updates in February and September 2025, has focused on polishing complex operations and expanding the toolkit:
