Exporting to Excel for FCC Logs

Step C: Write to the Radio

- Critical: Do NOT disconnect the cable or turn off the radio during the write cycle. A mid-write power failure can corrupt the radio’s EEPROM, requiring a trip to ICOM service.

You plug in the OPC-478U cable. Its USB end goes into your PC. Its 3.5mm TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve) plug goes into the radio’s [SP] jack, and the smaller 2.5mm plug goes into the [MIC] jack. Windows chimes. Device Manager shows "Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COM5)." Good.
