Ibm Ts3310 Admin Account Locked
Write-Up: IBM TS3310 Tape Library – Admin Account Locked
1. Overview
The IBM TS3310 (also known as the System Storage TS3310 Tape Library) uses an embedded web interface and an operator panel (LCD) for management.
If the admin account becomes locked (e.g., due to too many failed login attempts), you cannot manage the library, configure paths, run diagnostics, or check logs.
Common causes of admin account lockout
- Failed login attempts: repeated incorrect passwords or username/password mismatches trigger automatic lockout policies.
- Expired credentials: password expiry or forced rotation policies that weren’t updated.
- Account disabled by policy: scheduled or manual administrative controls disabling the account.
- Synchronization issues: LDAP/Active Directory or RADIUS integration problems (e.g., password out of sync, network issues, expired service account).
- Firmware or software bugs: authentication logic defects introduced in updates or configuration corruption.
- Misapplied automation: scripts, orchestration tools, or monitoring systems repeatedly attempting logins with outdated credentials.
- Administrative error: accidental change to account settings or policies that lock the account.
