Ic Datasheet ((top)): Highway 09
The Highway09A (often referred to as Highway 09) is a multi-functional integrated circuit most commonly identified as a specialized power management and signal control driver. While it is frequently found in high-power consumer appliances like induction cookers, it also serves broader roles in automotive and industrial sectors as a low-dropout (LDO) voltage regulator or an 8-bit microcontroller. Core Specifications
How It Works
- The internal op-amp compares the voltage across R_sense to a precise 0.1V bandgap reference.
- If the sense voltage drops below 0.1V (meaning too little current), the internal pass transistor turns on harder.
- If the voltage exceeds 0.1V, the transistor reduces conduction.
- Excess input voltage is dropped across the IC as heat → Thermal management is critical.

- Current Limiting: The chip automatically throttles current if the load tries to draw more than the safe limit (typically 2.2A internally), preventing immediate burnout during short circuits.
- Thermal Shutdown: If the junction temperature exceeds approximately 125°C, the regulator turns off, cooling down until it is safe to operate again.
