Fanuc Parameter 1860 Full !new! -
Technical Write-Up: FANUC Parameter No. 1860 (Reference Position Check)
1. Overview
Parameter 1860 is a bit-datalen (axis-specific) parameter used to define the checking distance for the reference position return operation.
The Guardrail: Parameter 1860 tells the CNC: "If the axis moves more than fanuc parameter 1860 full
- Metric machines: Usually 0.001 mm per unit (1 micron).
- Inch machines: Usually 0.0001 inches per unit (0.1 mil).
You cannot effectively manage Parameter 1860 without understanding Parameter 1815, as they are the two halves of the absolute positioning system. Technical Write-Up: FANUC Parameter No
- Machine capability and condition
- Workpiece material and geometry
- Tooling and cutting conditions
- Desired machining performance
10. Summary Table
| Feature | Detail | |---------|--------| | Parameter # | 1860 (axis 1), 1861 (axis 2), … | | Purpose | Final approach speed for G28 reference return | | Units | mm/min (metric) or 0.1 inch/min (inch) | | Typical range | 500 – 6000 mm/min | | Key constraint | Must be ≤ parameter 1420 (Rapid) | | Failure mode if too high | Missed reference signal → alarm or position drift | | Failure mode if too low | Long cycle time, but safe | Metric machines: Usually 0
Parameter 1815: Used to set the absolute position reference (Bit 4: APZ).
Method 3 – Manual documentation: Photograph the parameter screen for 1860, 1850, 1851, and 1815 (APC/APZ settings).
