Abstract

Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2) is celebrated for its realistic simulation of European cargo logistics. However, a subset of players employs memory-altering software known as “trainers,” notably those developed by “Fling,” to modify in-game parameters. This paper investigates how the Fling trainer operates within ETS2, its technical mechanisms, and its effects on gameplay experience. Using a mixed-methods approach (code analysis and player surveys), we find that the trainer enhances short-term gratification but reduces long-term engagement with core simulation mechanics. We conclude by discussing implications for game design and anti-cheat policies in single-player contexts.

Download: Obtain the trainer from a trusted source to avoid malware. Platforms like WeMod often host verified versions of FLiNG trainers. Activation: Launch the trainer first, then the game (or vice-versa).
