What Are eMule Servers?

In the eMule peer-to-peer (P2P) network, servers (or servidores) act as meeting points rather than file hosts. They do not store files. Instead, they help clients (eMule users) find each other by maintaining lists of connected users and the files they are sharing. Once two clients connect, the file transfer happens directly between them (peer-to-peer), not through the server.

How to Configure Servers in eMule

  1. Open eMule → Servers tab.
  2. To add a server manually: Click "New Server" → Enter IP and port (e.g., 91.200.42.46 and 1176).
  3. To import a list: Copy a server.met URL → Right-click in the server list → "Add servers from URL" → Paste.
  4. Remove dead servers: Select all → Right-click → "Remove dead servers" (those with high ping or no response).
  5. Set priority: Right-click a good server → "Add to static server list" – this prevents it from being auto-removed.
