Dogville.2003.720p.bluray.-cm-.mp4 __full__ [ HD ]
: Instead of real locations or buildings, the town of Dogville is represented by a flat, black soundstage. Invisible Boundaries : Houses, streets, and front yards are indicated only by white chalk outlines on the floor. Minimal Props
- The film was shot on the Sony DSR-PD150 (a standard-definition digital video camera) with occasional 35mm film inserts.
- Much of Dogville has a gritty, low-fi digital look, so extremely high resolution (4K) would not dramatically improve the experience.
- However, the Blu-ray source offers better color grading and less compression artifact than earlier DVD releases.
- The minimalist chalk-outline set design and voiceover narration are clear even in 720p.
The Explosive Final Act
Just when the viewer is broken, Grace’s father (John Hurt’s narration reveals he is the gangster boss) arrives to rescue her. The climax is a masterclass in subversion: Grace looks at the town and coldly instructs her father’s men to kill everyone, including the children. The film ends with the lone survivor being the dog (Moses), and an apocalyptic montage of photographs burning. Dogville.2003.720p.Bluray.-CM-.mp4
