- Reset your DIR-868L router: Before you start, ensure your router is reset to its factory settings.
- Connect to the main router: Connect your DIR-868L router to your computer using an Ethernet cable. Also, ensure your main router is connected to the internet.
- Access the DIR-868L interface: Open a web browser and navigate to
http://192.168.0.1(default IP address for DIR-868L). Log in with the default admin credentials (usuallyadminfor both username and password). - Change the Operation Mode: Click on Advanced Wireless Settings (or similar) and select Wireless Repeater or Repeater mode.
- Connect to the main network: Enter the SSID (network name) and password of the main router you want to repeat. You may also need to enter the main router's IP address and channel.
- Configure wireless settings: Set up your wireless settings (SSID, channel, encryption, etc.) for the repeater network.
- Save and reboot: Save your settings and reboot the DIR-868L.
