Call Of Duty Black Ops 2 Redacted Offline Lan Install ((better)) May 2026
To install and set up Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 with the Redacted client for offline LAN play, you will need the base game files and the client-specific patches. As of 2026, many users also utilize the
Redacted Executables: Place the Redacted files (often including t6mp.exe for Multiplayer or t6zm.exe for Zombies) directly into the game's root directory. Configuration: call of duty black ops 2 redacted offline lan install
Is it legal?
The Redacted client requires you to own a legitimate copy of Black Ops 2. It does not crack the game; it redirects network traffic. However, because it bypasses Steam achievements and VAC, it exists in a gray area. For offline/LAN use within a private home or venue, you will never face legal action. To install and set up Call of Duty:
- Firewalls: Allow the game executable through Windows Firewall on all PCs or temporarily disable the firewall.
- Different versions: Ensure all PCs have identical game and Redacted file sets.
- Ports: If using more advanced setups, confirm required UDP/TCP ports are open on the router for LAN discovery.
- Missing files: Restore from backup and reapply the patch carefully.
Set up LAN session
- Verify that all files from the Redacted archive have been extracted.
- Check that you have the correct version of DirectX and .NET Framework installed.
- Try running the game in Windows 7 Compatibility Mode as described in Step 4.
- Truly offline – No internet connection required after install. No login, no Steam, no Activision account nonsense.
- LAN works – We could see each other’s lobbies in Zombies and standard multiplayer (TDM, Domination, etc.). Ping was low, no lag.
- Bots included – For multiplayer maps, you can add bots, which is great if you have fewer than 4 players.
- Lightweight installer – It’s not 100+ GB like modern CODs. Around 15–18 GB fully installed.
- Zombies runs fine – All original maps (Town, Farm, Bus Depot, TranZit, Die Rise, Mob of the Dead, Buried) worked without crashes.
