AutoCAD 2016 is now considered a legacy version (having reached its "End of Life" in March 2021). However, it is still widely used in many firms that rely on older hardware or specific workflow scripts.
- Tier 1 Languages (German, French, Japanese): These are excellent. Autodesk has dedicated teams for these regions. The technical terminology is accurate, industry-standard, and polished.
- Tier 2 Languages: Generally good, though technical terms can sometimes feel "directly translated" rather than using local industry slang. Users often revert to English command aliases because they are faster to type than the translated versions.
Installation Procedure
- Run the Installer: Double-click the
.exefile (e.g.,AutoCAD_2016_Language_Pack_French_64bit.exe). - Extract Files: The pack will extract to a temporary folder (e.g.,
C:\Autodesk\AutoCAD_2016_LP_French). Do not interrupt this process. - Launch Setup: The Autodesk installer will automatically launch. Click Install.
- Accept License Agreement: Read (or skim) the agreement. Click I Accept.
- Choose Language: The installer will detect your base AutoCAD and present the target language.
- Wait for Migration: The installer will patch the following files:
